While visiting his friend Maya Fey, Phoenix discovers that the court system in Kura'in is even more corrupt than back home; lawyers don't even exist anymore because of the Defense Culpability Act.

Meanwhile, Apollo Justice rediscovers his past life in Kura'in and before long finds himself in the middle of a civil conflict. Prior to this game, all we knew was that Kura'in is the origin of the Fey Family Spirit Channeling Technique.

While it may lack the subtlety of prior games, Spirit of Justice is a welcome installment which provides a much needed change of scenery. This adventure gives Apollo Justice the storyline he deserves, and fixes many of the issues that were brought about by his initial game. Best of all the final twist, an absolute tearjearker, is on par with Trials and Tribulations!
