- Analysis:
Cao Cao is pretty awesome. His Partner Ability: Stamina & Impact as well as Air R1 are all the tools he need to make him an excellent well-rounded character.
Air R1 has tons of pros that outweigh it's cons though. Air R1 can crowd control/clear very well, steerable, super fast in execution and recovery, can generate dead body and hit through walls/obstacles! Being an Air R1, he gets reduced Musou consumption as well. Though his major drawback is his lack of burst combo generating.
Since he mobs so well, he replenishes Health and Musou through self-Stamina & Impact as well as a little help from Hundun and Taishi Ci's Partner Abilities. Vigor from Taishi Ci is there to ensure OHKO against ~1.5x officers when under Aggression and 2HKO when not under Aggression, assuming all are full-hit.
Because of his lack of damage, he becomes very Aggression dependent for damage output and for certain #HKOs. The lack burst generating slows his offense down by having to force generate at times. Oddly enough, he can still clear stages with miraculous clear times. That goes to show how fast his Air R1 is.
Cao Cao's Bastion is essentially a recommended filler since other modifiers or attributes won't help his #HKOs. Not even Alacrity + offensive partner setup will help him net certain #HKOs either, except the aforementioned Vigor from Taishi Ci against ~1.5x officers.
- Personal Thoughts:
At first glance of playing, Cao Cao will be really weak. But in the end, overall, Cao Cao becomes well-rounded in a very above average way. Cao Cao definitely fits the description, "Jack of all trades, master of none" in this game.
