Oh my god, it's Chimerian Squadron (now Chimquardon)!

====
Alright, non-working humor out of the way. So, what I'm going to say... I'm quite burned off XCOM, be it classics, FiraxisCOMs or this, so I didn't touch the series for about, I don't know, three months or four...

Writing commentary isn't fun (adding to the pot is the poor penship), especially horrible when you're so incredibly bored that you get bored from your own text. So I decided to leave this episode for a while so that I get my motivation back - and not to bore you into the state the Great Dreamer is in.

Recently I decided to give a go to another off-screen attempt of LWOTC on Commander-Plus, as well as to test some Gauss weapons sounds replacement in TFTD - and I've remembered why I love (and hate, you darn grazes and codices) XCOM.
With Chimquadron - I view the game as technically competent, but quite dull. Hence the negativity in text about some more questionable choices and laziness parts.

I've also been re-evaluating my stand on japanimation, for the more positive direction.
Some of ideas I thought were rather original were already explored there. Thinking of originality, no matter how laughably bad it is (hi, Jared Hill's storyline), is a pain.
I also picked some quite pumpy music tracks from there to dissipate the perpentual boringness, but I can't insert them into Chimquadron footage because, surprise-surprise, the eternal enemies of Copyright Eliminator are watching.

But I feel obliged to eventually complete the series. I just don't know how - do I still continue doing episodes or I pull the remaining footage and dump it all into one big video. The second approach is more effective, yet Jared's story will be stopped in its track. And no matter how stupid it is, I want to have a plot bridge from XCOM 2 to XCOM 3.

And about XCOM 3 - I did state in Sonic 4 LP that Heike's story is over. Well, not anymore. She will return there. But much less whiny. Because I know what I wanna do with her.

And I think that XCOM 3 will be the grand finale of FiraxisCOM, so I want at the very least to give some form of closure to every single person from WOTC timeline.

The storyline of Jared today isn't through the damaged Flaretek HDD drive. And I hope that I did write something for the previous episode...

(25 December 2038)
Jared is standing still in one of former ADVENT country towns. This one in particular has been abandoned after a large shootout - in fact, the same shootout XCOM had performed during the Liberation War.

He stands still looking at the first floor from a rooftop of a semi-destroyed building. The house has been overgrown by wild grass, but is still extremely recognizable.

Snow falls from the sky, heavy clouds obscuring the heavens. Night engulfs everything around, fueled by most of still-active autonomous technology going on and off.

Several people surrounding Jared. Nicoletta, Salmon, Ferguson... and, of all people, Zoe and Jana. The atmosphere was depressive and quiet, with no rise of fun.

This was the place where George Zander, the Tiberian Sun Soldier, died three years ago. By the circumstances of being the only known place of burial, also the spot to honor Valerian and a deceased Resistance soldier.

Despite the time that passed since then, Jared still kept the memories close to his heart. From a random encounter, seemingly just out of luck, the strongest bond has formed. Two men, being gnawed by their own previous failures, found a repentance through each other. It gave hope for a future, the one that both Jared and George lacked.
With this bond, they stood strong against the reality of alien wasteland, searching for new allies to supplement them. The exchange of jokes, stories and personal details was just the pinnacle of their mutual trust.

And Jared never forgot that. Keeping a freshly recorded holographic vinyl of George's favourite music group, Dingo Magmaraves, in his hands, Jared span to the face of people he's grown to trust.

They stood still, only nodding that they will accept everything Jared does.
Nicoletta, despite her recent breakup with Jared, hugged her ex-boyfriend with pure sincerity. Even though Nic didn't get to know George, she understood that he meant a lot to Jared.

With a twitch of their hands, both Nicoletta and Jana formed a spectral pine tree out of their psionic energies. Zoe and Salmon opened a videofeed to Bradford, with Ferguson holding the camera.

Putting down the vinyl, Jared said:
"Merry Christmas, George. Thanks to you and the others we stand here today... (with sadness) Wish you could be among us too..."

Standing here - saying that, Jared got depressed. He still hasn't told anyone about the Dimensional Viewer out of fear - he couldn't muster the courage on his own.
Their death approaches, with no solution to it.
Jared sat on snow, looking grim.

They will meet each other again soon...
