Folk Hero is an Indie, Hack and Slash Action RPG, an Action Roguelike packing both Pixel Graphics and Procedural Generation of its wilderness dungeons.
Folk Hero is a fast and fun Exploration focused Dungeon Crawler that feels good to play!

In Folk Hero, you explore each randomly generated grid of the dungeon in an Old School Zelda like fashion, mapping out each area as you Hack, Slash, and Bow blast your way through the hordes of foes, cleaving them down for their sweet, sweet pale soul juice!
Except In Folk Hero, the rooms are not near identical rectangles, they are wilderness stretches that reward exploration, as you can find goodies like random potions and relics / artifacts in barrels and camp sites scattered through the zones, as well as more monsters to beat down for souls, so it’s well worth looking around here and not rushing towards the exit!

Lvling Up:
Lvling up and becoming stronger in Folk Hero is done through spending found monsters souls; used to
buy upgrades from the different types of merchants found in the random dungeons.
You can find Rune merchants, and buy and affix these runes to certain attacks, like your sword swing, or bow shop, adding its effects to the attack.
These Runes are powerful, adding slowness, bleed, lightning, fire and more, and they stack for each hit, and you can have more than 1 rune on each ability!
There are potion merchants too; offering potions of permanent power boost, like boosts to hp, stamina or dodge; good stuff here!
These potions and rune powers up are purchased with the soul currency, and serve as the RPG lvl up mechanic of Folk Hero.
There is also a blacksmith who can lvl up your attacks, for a pile of your sweet, sweet souls!

Note: This is an early look at the demo for Folk Hero so any bugs or other oddness is not representative of the final product.
Still, Folk Hero is a fast and fun Action RPG Roguelike Dungeon Crawler that just feels good to play, even at this early stage, and is easily worth a wishlist and a watch.
