Gameplay of Alien Resurrection, the game based on the movie of the same name released in 2000 exclusively for the first PlayStation, developed by Argonaut Games (designers of the SNES Super FX chip). It's an FPS in which the player controls several characters from the movie, such as Ripley and Call, fulfilling missions through the corridors and rooms of the USM Auriga spaceship while facing soldiers and, of course, the aliens escaping from containment.

I play it on the DuckStation emulator, which allows, thanks to its graphics enhancement options, to play in HD (1080p in my case), widescreen, and at 60 fps overclocking the emulated PSX CPU. In addition, I have activated the geometry correction, although it doesn't seem to work 100% with this game, as some polygons still do weird things, even so, better than in the original game. In addition, as the game itself allows in its options to play with mouse, I play it with keyboard and mouse, so the result is almost like playing a PC port.

I had never played this game before. I have found interesting what I have played so far. It's known for its high difficulty, because the ammunition is scarce, the aliens attack quickly, and as more than one appears at a time you are ambushed quickly. The thibgs to do in the game are not very original, but it is ok: find keys to open doors, activate a switch or valve to continue, and so on. There is something very negative in my opinion: the FOV of this game is extremely low, which makes everything look too close, and personally it overwhelms me a lot, so I find it very uncomfortable to play.

At the end of the video I show how I have configured the emulator, in case anyone is interested in playing it in a similar way.
