Since there is only one Holy Miter to go around, you can only level up one character one at a time. Quina will be trained specifically to Level 45 for two reasons. One, Quina will be able to take damage from Earth Guardian, since Zidane is remaining at Level 1, and two, Quina will not have the Holy Miter on in Pandemonium against Abadon, so s/he cannot gain any levels from that fight. Luckily there is a setup to get Quina barely at Level 45 with room to take Abadon's EXP without penalty.

Quina should be set up with Level Up already activated as shown in the previous video. Head onto the beach and encounter a Whale Zombie which is a 50-50 chance. A Phoenix Down used on an undead monster sets their HP randomly from 1 to 10, with a small chance to kill instantly. After the Phoenix Down, Quina needs to be the only one standing to Eat the Whale Zombie, learning LV5 Death and leveling up to LV17. Fin is the best attack against you as it will kill just about everyone, but Quina will be quite resistant thanks to the Robe of Lords. After the first Whale Zombie, encounter another one and have Quina quickly use an Elixir to dispatch it, bringing him to LV21. Save after the second Whale Zombie.

Now you need to encounter on the grass 6 Grand Dragons in a row, saving halfway through. Five of these fights is with Level Up active, then deactivating for the last dragon. The math works out to get Quina to LV45, however Grand Dragons are not 100% guaranteed, as you can also encounter Gimmie Cats. With 50-50 odds on each encounter it is a 1 in 8 chance to get 3 in a row. What is a little trickier is getting not only getting 3 fights in a row rather quickly on the world map, but getting Quina's turn in before a Grand Dragon, as they have near max speed. The Robe of Lords does give Quina some evasion to avoid physicals and Antibody is active to guard against Venom. At some point, you will have to Elixir Quina between fights to heal HP/MP so that he/she can take a claw or a Thundaga. In the process of training Quina, you'll get gil from these fights that will help with future purchases. LV5 Death is how you will kill these Grand Dragons at 20 MP a cast.

After getting the first 3 Grand Dragons with Level Up active, Quina should be LV38. Save, and get 3 more dragons, Elixir Quina before the last dragon and de-activate Level Up. Levels should be 41, 43, and then 45 after these last three fights. Save before continuing the attack on the Four Shrines.

Before boarding the Hilda Garde 3, revive Zidane and Elixir Quina if s/he is not at full HP, then equip Quina with a Green Beret, Bone Wrist, and Running Shoes. Activate Auto-Haste and Add Status. Now fly to the Wind Shrine and then the Earth Shrine. After some dialogue and scenes with all 8 characters, it's a 2 on 1 affair with Earth Guardian.

Try to get Zidane and Quina both the first turn, and hope Quina can inflict Slow on Earth Guardian. With Auto-Haste on your team, Slow on the enemy plus proper ATB-wait tricking, you can get potentially 3 attacks in with Zidane before Earth Guardian acts again. 4 Zidane attacks should put Earth Guardian to where Quina can Eat it, winning the fight. There is a possibility Zidane can critical like so, making things a lot more trivial here. This is the last dose of AP before the point of no return.

After everyone is reunited, form a party with Quina, Steiner, and Dagger. Save on the ground near the Shimmering Island.
