Look what I found...a ๐ญ๐ต๐ต๐ฐ ๐๐บ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ ๐ฆ๐ฆ!! *FIRST EVER TIME SEEING IN PERSON*
While I was strolling around my neighborhood to take a walk, which is actually where my parents grew up in as kids and my great-grandmother (father side) once lived, I somehow stumbled upon a rare car, a mid-'90s Chevrolet Impala SS, the performance version of the Caprice (the Ford Crown Victoria's main rival)! Though the Impala dates back to 1958, this particular model is likely the most famous, as the 1994-1996 year, 7th generation, was based on the sturdy GM B platform like the Caprice and shares many parts as the police version (9C1) but it's faster. It has a 5.7L LT1 V8 with 260hp/330 lb.ft torque, taken from the Corvette. Their factory color is almost always a monochrome black. A slick 1990s muscle car.
About 70,000 of them were made, so it's far more in numbers than the Mercury Marauder (18,000), which Ford's Panther platform tried to copy over the Grand Marquis in 2003-2004. I believe the particular car I'm looking at is a 1996, as it has the name on the rear side. This is the first ever time I see one in person, so I was very lucky to see and film this car!
I was trying to record quickly, because I'm aware of the danger of filming people's parked cars close-up and how sought after the Impala SS is. Shortly after I filmed this, it started raining very hard, catching me off-guard...
EDIT: A user confirmed me this is actually a 1994 model, the rarest model year, as only 6300 units were made. I literally just unintentionally found a very rare gem!!
