This is a video of two short flights to test how the PA-38 Tomahawk works and flies between 9,000 and 10,500 feet altitude.
This is not a very powerful aircraft, so the fun here is to manage it properly, as we don't have the power of a fighter jet to save us from bad flight management... Steep climbs are not possible with such an aircraft!
However, I fly it also slowly, close to stalling...
I want to try take offs and landings at this altitude, on a sloped runway.
Lukla in Nepal is the perfect location for this type of testing.

For the landings, I decided to turn off the engine, so I climb high enough before turning off the engine, for powerless approaches and landings. Watch from 5:30 and 11:20...
The easiest way is to be a bit too high, and use full flaps as air brake as needed, but end with only half or no flaps, to keep the airspeed as needed.
Even we we APPEAR to be far too high, we aren't!

As proof that the engine is not very powerful, after having come to a full stop after the landing, the aircraft is unable to climb the runway in the line og biggest slope: I have to climb by swerving to be able to reach the apron.

I start ready for take off and end in Cold & Dark. Enjoy!

Assistance Settings: Hard, otherwise what is the bl😎😎dy point?
