I was worried about this year, because 11 months went by and not a single new game came out that I considered to be a “10-out-of-10”, monumental game. Sure, there were some great games, but nothing completely blew me away.

For a lot of people, Elden Ring is THE GAME of 2022. But it just didn’t click with me, and I’m sure there are plenty of others who feel the same...

Still, throughout the entire year, I held out hope. Because I knew that, in November, a game was releasing that could very possibly be THE GAME for me.

Everything fell on the shoulders of God of War Ragnarok. And, thank Karatos, it delivered.

The environments, the performances, the story: they’re all absolutely top notch.

And the combat… the combat… it can really only be described as peak video game fun.

Everything comes together to create an experience that, in my opinion, is just MORE than what any other game has been able to deliver this year.

For me, this is THE GAME that I’ll associate with 2022.
