The Long Dark (19.10.2023) Challenges - Hopeless Rescue (4:6)
Hello again. Krusty here. The 4:6 are the difficulty mode on this first Challenge. Have tried now the challenge a couple of times. And this time I made it all the way to Desolation point and top of the Lighthouse. Haven't found Timberwolf Mountain on my way to that region. So I didn't had the Distress Pistol to fire at the top. So close but still far away. But think I will complete this challenge soon. I don't aim to upload only perfect sucessfull videos. But also the failed one. That way, people who haven't tried the challenges yet, maybe get a better idea of, how tough this challenge is. Collect good quality tools, weapons, and clothes. But don't waste too much time in that process. You only have 6 days to get to Timberwolf Mountain and at the summit, and get pistress pistol. And then to the Lighthouse in Desolation Point. Wolf and Bears are more agressive on this mode/level. So be carefull.
Think I had a good fast pace this time. But were unsure of the way to Timberwolf Mountain. Thought it was through the mine in Coastal Highway. But it seems the elevator needs aurora for it to explore further. It's been many years since I've been here. So memory are foggy.

Even thou I have played TLD for many years, I don't know the many types of clothes what each gives of different warmth. Know many of them, but still hard to do a quick comparation when they are at 100%. So sometimes I spend too much times repairing a piece of clothes, I should have maybe just left unrepaired. But kind of tricky... You are in the start kind of vulnerable, and have to get any kind of help you can get. Because you don't know when the good quality clothes will drop.

But getting closer for each try. Main thing is to know the rute to Timberwolf Mountain, then I should now know how to get to the Lighthouse.
So it's should be possible without too many screwups with forgetting my shoes at a fire. Or perhaps unlucky with some agressive beasts.

But to boil the info down, for each instance of frostbite, your condition get down 10%. And you can get a total of 5 instances of frostbite of maximum 50% reduction of your condition. That should be permanent through rest of the game. Frostbite are only permanent damage in the game. So be carefull. The lower condition you have when in a blizzard, the shorter time you have to find shelter and warmth.
