- Analysis:
Club melee weapons (Huang Gai and Xu Zhu) have unique properties when they use normal attacks. Unlike most melee weapons, their normal attacks produce blast-like tremors on the ground, allowing their normal attacks to get benefited by Blast modifier.
Huang Gai's R1 is very cool and awesome. It imbues the "Wind" element to all of his attacks, allowing him to plow through any blocking enemies and deal tiny fraction damage. The game never mentions this, but I'm very sure it offers the very basic Wind element, which is Wind+1.

Note: Personally, I have never experimented this on Huang Gai, but with Yoshitsune Minamoto, his R1 "Bolt" element buff will temporarily take in effect over any variation of higher level Bolt elements in his weapon. So if the mechanic is the same for both characters, then it is safe to assume that Huang Gai's R1 buff will behave the same way.

Huang Gai can technically use any variations of Wind+10 on his weapon, but his R1 is so good (better than Yoshitsune's R1 buff and most character's buffs) because it basically grants him access to a cheap, but more superior Almighty for all his movesets without wasting any slot in his weapon for Brilliance, Wrath, Grace and Wind element. The best part about the buff is that he can use it ANY time he wants without the restriction from the other Almighty attributes in this game.
Too bad Koei dumped this buff on a character where half of his moveset is already unblockable because of grab-based movesets, lol. Nevertheless, it is superb on Huang Gai because he probably won't be needing any of those movesets.
