Have you ever heard people rave about a game that you know you'd probably love, but you just haven't gotten around to playing it yet?

That was the case for me with Metroid Prime.

And, for the past few years, I really put off playing it because I heard rumors that a remaster was in development for Switch.

As you know, those rumors ended up being true. So I was excited to finally see what all the hype was about.

Surprisingly, it’s way more similar to the 2D Metroid games than I expected.

Obviously, the perspective is different, but the gameplay loop is still centered around fighting off enemies while exploring until you find and unlock new abilities.

Then you use those abilities to access previously unreachable areas.

Yeah, you might find yourself lost at times, but Metroid games are the absolute best at delivering an overwhelming sense of mystery and intrigue that makes you want to keep playing.

In my opinion, the combination of combat, puzzles, and exploration all work together in perfect harmony.
