Cleansing the Ash River - Tomb Kings Steel Faith Vortex Campaign Part 8
3Welcome everyone to Total War Warhammer II, along with the Steel Faith Overhaul 2 and the Vortex Campaign Custom Maps mods. Steel Faith is a major overhaul mod that rebalances units, buildings, garrisons, and all sorts of details across the entire game, and VCCM is a collection of community-created battle maps that continues to update over time - links to both mods in the Steam Workshop are below. In this campaign we play as Settra the Imperishable as he seeks to find the lost books of Nagash while the Vortex is disrupted. Summaries of each session will be below, as will time stamps for the beginnings of battles.
In part 8 we carry out our conquest of Numas, and follow up by crushing the vampires of the Necrarch Brotherhood. We begin with an assault on the city of Numas itself, defended by King Nectanebo. Settra and Rakhash together storm the walls and crush the defenses of the pretender king. As we prepare to continue south to Quatash, the main army defending the settlement under King Berekht turns when toward Khemri. Wakhaf moves to defend the city, while Settra assaults the now largely undefended Quatar and conquers it, defeating another pair of pretender kings in the process. King Berekht's force remains close to Khemri, allowing Wakhaf to crush him and end the Numas dynasty. We then turn our sights on the vampires of the Necrarch Brotherhood at the southern end of the Ash River. Settra and Wakhaf converge on the Springs of Eternal Life and destroy the vampires polluting it, as well as bringing the session to a close.
