Destroying a Dynasty - Tomb Kings Steel Faith Vortex Campaign Part 2
13Welcome everyone to Total War Warhammer II, along with the Steel Faith Overhaul 2 and the Vortex Campaign Custom Maps mods. Steel Faith is a major overhaul mod that rebalances units, buildings, garrisons, and all sorts of details across the entire game, and VCCM is a collection of community-created battle maps that continues to update over time - links to both mods in the Steam Workshop are below. In this campaign we play as Settra the Imperishable as he seeks to find the lost books of Nagash while the Vortex is disrupted. Summaries of each session will be below, as will time stamps for the beginnings of battles.
In part 2 we efficiently crush the Rakaph Dynasty under King Hakor, capturing the Black Tower of Arkhan before turning our attention back to the Top Knotz greenskins. Settra's forces are able to reach Zandri before Hakor's and keep the port settlement from being taken. Hakor's forces turn to raiding, and Settra rides to meet them in the field, crushing them in a major battle. We then push forward to the Black Tower of Arkhan, laying siege in an attempt to bait the garrison out from behind its walls. When this fails, we charge the walls and batter our way into the city, conquering it with relatively minimal losses. King Hakor begins rebuilding his forces at the Pools of Despair, but we don't allow him enough time - the pretender king is defeated a final time by Settra, as the Pools of Despair are conquered and the Rakaph Dynasty ended for good. At this point Skafag Toof-Taka of the Top Knotz returns and sacks The Salt Plain, despite suffering heavy losses to our garrison. Settra arrives before Skafag's forces can fall back and we end the session by slaughtering the savages for their transgressions.
