- Analysis:
Instead of a full Musou setup, this weapon setup aims to be R1 and Musou setup. One rip from her Musou with the Mystic weapon without Verity and Destruction can still achieve the toughest kill, meaning Kotaro Fuma (not shown in this video because I missed a physical hit).
Her elemental R1 offense can actually OHKO generics now because of Echo. If generics literally have 1 Health left after R1, it is most likely because they blocked the initial Echo hit so just JA or JC to land the kill. Dragon's Eye is there to cancel the JC because of its poor recovery. Difference between JA and JC is that JC will slightly move her from being stationary after R1.
Unfortunately, Frenzy multiplier output is very disappointing with R1 and cannot compare to the damage output that Echo has. My guess is that the physical damage output of her R1 is really disappointing. Despite Frenzy being a x1.25 multiplier, multiplying any low damage output won't get too much result. Aerial doesn't work that well either. Frenzy multiplier is higher than Courage (x1.20), but Courage helps her Musou damage output while Frenzy does not at all.
What is new is the playstyle with her Air R1. At point blank with the initial thunder rain, Air R1 will demolish officers. If a full-hit was to land on Kotaro Fuma, he would barely have any Health left. And this is all without Aggression and Frenzy! But Musou is the way to go against ~x3 officers like Kotaro Fuma and Itaoni (I think that is his name), the super ultra buff generic leader in Defense of the Mystic Realm stage, where he is just as buff as Kotaro Fuma, if not, stronger because it is a 10 star stage.
R1 offense is faster and more consistent compared to her Musou offense because it does not require her Musou gauge to be at full 24/7. Her Musou is strong and has fast recovery, but her invincible frames are too short. Most of the time the game won't let her input any other buttons after her Musou besides running so she won't be able to defend herself at all against incoming enemies, especially leaping peons. Her Musou offense should be used against super tough officers, multiple officer or reserved as a panic button in precarious situations.
Anyways, the benefits of her R1 offenses :
1) R1 offense places Nu Wa airborne, therefore she will always take reduced damage,
2) Air R1 does place Nu Wa on the ground, but it has longer invincible frame than Musou and the persisting lightning barrier acts as a ward to fend off combat peons and officers.
So overall, this improves her performance by a lot in regular and ninja scenarios which reflects standard Free mode gameplay. Archer performance is whatever, but still better.
- Personal Opinion:
Pure Musou setup utilizes Big-star weapon, which is a viable setup. The benefit with Big-star weapon for her is the extra reach to absorb better and cover more ground. Personally, I find that the benefits are not too beneficial because her absorption problem is more of a crowd dependency issue than reach issue and her range coverage is not much better because the final elemental sword swing and thunder rain from her Musou is still limited. R1 crowd clearing and control out performs Musou. It is always to her advantage to be point blank when using Musou anyway.
No audio because this was recorded through the features in PS4.
