Zelda: Ocarina of Time MQ Playthrough #081, Ganon's Castle (2/3), Forest, Fire, & Water Barriers
This is video #081 in my playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest. Upon returning to Ganon's Castle, Link turns right and investigates the Forest Temple rooms. In the first room, he deals with a couple of Stalfos. It's always such fun dealing with these guys. On the archway above the door leading onwards, there is a Small Key. Link needs to put on the Iron Boots to prevent being blown off.
In the next room, one of the fans across the gap has an ice-covered eye switch inside. Shooting this with a Fire Arrow causes a chest to drop onto a platform ahead to the left. To Link's right when he enters the room, an eye switch is in another fan. This causes a chest containing a bundle of arrows to drop onto the platform where Link is.
If Link wears the Hover Boots, the fan to the right will blow him clear to the platform ahead on the right. However, there is a Beamos here. On the left-hand side of the room, the chest that was recently dropped in contains a few Bombs. Finally, note the blue block positioned above the blue switch. If Link plays the Song of Time a couple of times, a statue placed on top of that block will drop onto the switch, causing the door to open.
The Forest Barrier is in the room beyond. When Link shoots it with Light Arrows, it is dispelled, and Saria warps him back to the main hall.
The next set of rooms that Link visits is the Fire Temple rooms. In this one, Link has to gather several Silver Rupees. This is probably the most challenging set of rooms with all the precarious platforms over the lava. The first Silver Rupee is to the right and can be reached by riding a platform up. Further ahead, another is underneath the huge block, which can only be moved with the Golden Gauntlets. Then, by standing on the moving platform, Link can Longshot to the Hookshot target on the left side of the room and grab a Silver Rupee nearby. To the south, the next Silver Rupee can be reached from the moving platform. On the island nearby, Link should pick up and move the big block. It will land not far away so that he can access the final Silver Rupee. When this Silver Rupee is collected, the door is unbarred, and a Hookshot target mercifully appears near the door.
The Fire Barrier is in the room beyond. When Link shoots it with a Light Arrow, it is dispelled, and Darunia warps him back to the main hall.
Link next heads to the Water Temple set of rooms in Ganon's Castle. Actually, this place is a lot more like the Ice Cavern, but that's okay. In the first room, there are three Freezards to take care of. Then, Link can lower the water spout around the Blue Fire by performing a charged spin attack near the hand on the right side of the room. He needs Blue Fire to melt the red ice near the door and around the room. The door here is locked, so Link will need a Small Key from elsewhere in the dungeon. So far, I found them in the Spirit Temple and Forest Temple. Be sure to have a couple of Blue Fires before moving north.
In the room to the north, it is a good idea to take out the various Keese before dropping to the floor below. An invisible Keese is on the boulder where a Silver Rupee is located. Several Silver Rupees are scattered around the room. One is in the square pit, so Link should grab it before pushing a block into the pit. To get the one over the upper-right pit, Link should wear the Hover Boots. Another is frozen in a block of red ice in the nook to the left. When all the Silver Rupees have been gathered, the door leading forward is unlocked.
Link will arrive at the Water Barrier. As usual, he has to shoot it with a Light Arrow to dispel it. Ruto will appear and teleport Link back to the main hall.
Thanks for watching!
