Zelda: Majora's Mask Playthrough #002, Highway Robbery and Transformation
This is video #002 in my Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask playthrough. We begin the game, appropriately naming the hero Link. The hero is traveling in search of an old friend, perhaps Navi. As Link is riding through the woods, he is waylaid by the Skull Kid and two fairies! The Skull Kid is wearing an interesting mask... and he makes off with the Ocarina of Time and Epona! After him!
As Link pursues the Skull Kid, he inadvertently falls through a gateway to another world. When he lands, there is another scene with the Skull Kid. Then, the vicious little brat transforms the hero into a little Deku Scrub! Ugh! One of the fairies, Tatl, knocks Link down, but she gets separated from the Skull Kid and the other fairy in the process. So now she needs Link's help to catch up to them.
As they go forward, Tatle apologizes for what she said to Link. She offers to help him out. Sure, why not? Tatl will be even more annoying than Navi, if that's possible. And a lot more disrespectful.
Anyway, she helps Link right away by telling him how to use Deku flowers to fly across gaps. To get across to the next door, Link has to burrow into the Deku Flower until the puff of pollen appears. Then he can pop out and fly across a short gap.
In the next room, there will be a series of platforms to go across over a bottomless pit. If Link goes straight two platforms, he will get a Deku Nut. In addition to stunning enemies, Link can drop them while flying to bomb enemies. They are pretty useful. As Link crosses, Tatl will teach him how to Z-target (or L-target, if you are playing the GameCube release like I am). Through the door at the end, Link will go through a strange twisting hallway. Uh oh....
At the far end, he arrives in the basement of a building, and the door shuts behind him. Looks like we won't be getting back to Hyrule any time soon. When Link goes upstairs and approaches the building's exit, a voice calls him from behind.
Hey, it's the owner of the Happy Mask Shop! Tatl seems wary of him, for some reason. This freak admits that he stalked Link to this place. He promises that he can return Link to normal if Link gets back the Ocarina. He also wants Link to get back the precious item that the Skull Kid stole. And he must leave within three days? Why is that?
At the end of the video, I'm just letting the lovely Song of Healing play.
Thanks for watching!
